Crane reducers are widely used in ports, construction industry, steel plants, and other construction industries that require lifting heavy objects. Crane reducers are mainly used in the four major mechanisms of lifting, operation, slewing, and slewing of cranes. The commonly used crane reducers in China are divided into soft tooth surface, medium hard tooth surface, and hard tooth surface gear reducers according to the hardness of the tooth surface. According to the installation method, they are divided into horizontal, vertical, suit type, suspension suit type, etc.

1. Regularly check the anchor bolts for looseness, detachment, and breakage.

2. Check the gearbox housing daily and ensure that the temperature at the bearings does not exceed the allowable temperature. When the temperature exceeds 40 ℃ above room temperature, the bearings should be checked for damage, improper installation or lack of lubricating grease, prolonged load time, and any signs of jamming during operation.

3. Check the lubrication parts. During the initial use of the wire rope electric hoist, the lubricating oil should be changed every three months, and the box should be cleaned to remove metal shavings. Afterwards, it should be changed every six months to one year. The lubricating oil should not leak, depending on the cleanliness of the lubricating oil, but the amount should be moderate.

4. Pay attention to the sound of gear meshing. When the noise is too high or there is abnormal impact sound, open the box and check whether the shaft and gear are damaged. Under normal conditions, the sound is uniform and light, with a noise level not exceeding 85dB (A).

5. Use a magnetic or ultrasonic flaw detector to inspect the gearbox shaft, and replace it promptly if cracks are found.

6. The shell of the electric hoist of the gantry crane shall not have any deformation or cracking.

When any of the following situations occur in the reducer components, they should be scrapped.

① The gears have cracks and broken teeth.

② When the pitting damage on the tooth surface reaches 30% of the meshing surface or 10% of the original tooth thickness,

③ When the wear of the first stage meshing gear of the lifting mechanism reaches 10% of the original tooth thickness, and the wear of other meshing gears reaches 20% of the original tooth thickness, they should be scrapped; When the wear of the first level meshing gears of other institutions reaches 15% of the original tooth thickness, and the wear of other meshing gears reaches 25% of the original tooth thickness, they should be scrapped; When the gear wear in open gear transmission reaches 30% of the original tooth thickness, the gear is scrapped.

④ When the casing of the gantry crane reducer is severely deformed, cracked, and has no repair value, it is scrapped.

How to effectively inspect and maintain the gearbox?

1、 For reducers with oil level plugs

Check the oil level for compliance; Install the oil level plug.

2、 Oil replacement

After cooling, the viscosity of the oil increases and it is difficult to drain the oil. The gearbox should change the oil at operating temperature. Cut off the power supply to prevent electric shock! Wait until the gearbox cools down and there is no risk of combustion!

3、 Precautions

Inject new oil of the same brand; The oil quantity should be consistent with the installation position; Check the oil level at the oil level plug; Tighten the oil level plug and vent; The gearbox should still be kept warm during oil change; Place an oil pan under the drain plug; Open the oil level plug, vent, and drain plug; Remove all the oil; Install the drain plug.
